7 decades of music in a 15 decades of theater!

Last night we had tickets to a Jethro Tull concert. Not a cover band! The real thing. Its main member Ian Anderson, flutist extraordinaire, is 76 years old now. He still had plenty air in his lungs for his beautiful flute music. The band started giving shows in 1967. He is the only ''original member'' of the band. His base guitarist stayed with him only two years. The present base guitarist , Martin Barre, has been with the band since 1969.

It was a lovely show, Marlene Jim and I bought our tickets way back when in Canada. We only paid 60$/cdn. Very affordable but it also meant very high up!!! Lol

The venue was the Teatro Cervantes, named after Miguel de Cervantes, author of Don Quijotte de la Mancha. Cervantes was a novelist, a poet, a dramaruge and a spanish soldier. Renown as an important figure of the Spanish literature. The present theater's version (rebuilt after a fire) was inaugurated on December 17, 1870. 153 years ago. The architect was Géronimo Cuervo Gonzales. It is sublime! The theater can only sit 1100 persons. The lodges take an awful lot of space for the few people it houses.

If you know me well, you know I do not do well with heights!!! We were on the balcony. I was soooo dizzy! I could not let my eyes look around without feeling sick to my stomach. I could not walk to my seat without hanging on to Jim. Once we sat down and the lights were dim. I could enjoy the show. It finished around 10:10 pm. We had to get to the train station for the last train at 11:30. We actually made the before last train. We strolled to it in awe. Malaga is beautiful especially at night. The weather was perfect. Still 18 degrees at that time of night.

We came home tired and happy. Another great day in paradise.

Hasta luego amigos
