The Picasso museum in Malaga, is exhibiting Picasso's notebooks or sketch books. Which were pretty small handmade booklets in which he sketched and refined his ideas when in Royan, French city where he stayed on and off between France and Spain. He produced mainly i Royan in his booklets.

We first started with a visit of his work in the booklets, in Spanish, thank you very much. I understood most of it especially the word: Picasso lol.

We then proceeded to a workshop where we learned (my sister Gina and I) how to make those booklets. It was a very well organized workshop. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. I have made junk journals before, but this was the Spanish method for bookbinding. I was thinking I should make a serie of these and prepare a solo exhibit with them. It is something I enjoy doing here are the workshop pictures...

Our teacher wasn't just a craftsman, he was a book binding specialist. Very knowledgeable. He is the one in the last picture with the plaid shirt. Here is the result ...

The master's name was Fernando Mateo. His son and another helpr were there. They tried their best to help us understand. After all that, Gina and I thought we deserved a treat as we were quite tired. The workshop was from 5:30 until 8:10 appx. We figured we earned the right to a dessert. And that we did before taking the train back home!

Finally got the pictures to download, thanks for reading.

Hasta luego amigos!
